We’re delighted for northern musician Sam Fender who’s debut album Hypersonic Missiles’ rocketed to Number 1 on spotify just one week after its release.
Sam teamed up with spotify for a very special gig to celebrate, performing to a packed home crowd at King’s Street Social Club in North Shields, just a stone’s throw from where he grew up. The intimate gig from one of the UK’s brightest new stars, delighted fans who sang along to some of his standout hits including ‘Will We Talk?’, ‘Play God’ and title track, ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ which he dedicated to his mother.
His popularity rapidly grew last year, having toured the UK and Europe relentlessly, building himself a loyal, passionate army of fans. Sam writes honestly and candidly about subjects of social and generational significance, broadly drawn from his experiences growing up in Tyneside, Tyne & Wear. Having won the 2019 Brits critics’ choice award, Fender has cemented himself as undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents in the UK.
Presenting his Official Charts award to fans he announced, “This is a dream. We did it!”
